About Ragdoll Launcher

Ragdoll Launcher is a distance-focused physics game where you control a cannon that fires ragdoll figures, and the objective is to adjust your shot parameters to achieve the greatest possible travel distance. The core loop is about finding the optimal launch angle and power for each terrain, which the game presents as a pseudo-puzzle — the environment is fixed, and the variables are entirely in your hands.

The cannon interface gives you three adjustable parameters: vertical angle (how steeply upward you aim), horizontal direction, and launch power. In basic levels, the optimal answer is a standard 45-degree physics launch. In more complex levels, the terrain introduces hills, valleys, trampolines, and bounce pads that mean the theoretical ideal angle is sometimes counterintuitive — a shallower launch that hits a trampoline at the base of a hill may carry further than a high arc that lands on flat ground past the hill.

Each ragdoll in flight can be modified by in-air physics pickups: jet boosters that add a velocity burst mid-flight, wind zones that push horizontally, and spin modifiers that change the rotation rate and therefore the angle at which the ragdoll bounces off surfaces. Collecting these while airborne requires aiming a launch that passes through the pickup zone, which adds a targeting layer to the raw distance optimization.

Score is determined primarily by total distance, with multiplier bonuses for collecting pickups and sticking difficult angle combinations. A session consists of three launches per attempt, and your total across all three is what registers on the leaderboard. Managing three launches — sometimes sacrificing distance on one to set up a better angle on the next — is the meta-game layer.

Key Features

  • Adjustable cannon with angle, direction, and power parameters per shot
  • Terrain variety: hills, valleys, trampolines, and bounce pads shape optimal trajectories
  • Mid-air physics pickups: jet boosters, wind zones, spin modifiers
  • Three-launch session format — combined distance determines session score
  • Pickup multipliers reward launches that thread through bonus zones
  • Leaderboard tracks best session scores

Controls

Mouse — Aim cannon direction and angle
Left Click / Hold — Charge launch power
Release — Fire ragdoll
A / D or Left / Right Arrow — Rotate cannon horizontal direction
MobileDrag up/down to set angle; drag side to rotate; hold and release to fire

How to Play

  1. 1Set your cannon angle by moving the mouse up and down. A trajectory line preview shows the approximate flight path.
  2. 2Hold to charge launch power. The power meter fills on screen — release at your desired power level.
  3. 3The ragdoll launches and begins flying. Watch for mid-air pickup zones and note their positions for future attempts.
  4. 4When the ragdoll lands and comes to rest, your distance is recorded. You have three launches per session.
  5. 5After three launches, your combined session total is calculated. Adjust your strategy for each launch based on where the previous one fell short.

Tips & Tricks

  • The standard 45-degree launch angle is only optimal on flat terrain. When a trampoline sits at a specific terrain point, calculate the angle that lands the ragdoll center-mass on the trampoline surface for the highest bounce velocity.
  • Jet booster pickups are worth deviating from the optimal path for. A 10% shorter initial distance that collects a booster often outscores a 10% longer direct flight that misses it.
  • Use your first of three launches as a reconnaissance shot. Aim for the area you think is correct and observe exactly where the ragdoll lands — then adjust angle and power on launch 2 and 3 based on what you saw.
  • Wind zones push horizontally. If a wind zone pushes in your travel direction, fly through it. If it pushes against you, shoot above it rather than through it.

FAQ

Standard sessions give three launches. Your combined total distance across all three is your session score.

Pickups include jet boosters (add velocity mid-flight), wind zones (push horizontally), and spin modifiers (change ragdoll rotation, affecting surface bounce angles). Each type interacts differently with the trajectory.

Unlimited individual launches are available in practice. Only full three-launch sessions are recorded on the leaderboard.
