About Slash Battle

Slash Battle is a reflex-based sword fighting game where you face a stream of blade-wielding opponents in one-on-one duels. Each fight is quick and decisive — your sword's reach is short, so closing distance and striking before the opponent resets their guard is the primary skill. Hits deal significant damage, and neither fighter has much health to spare, which means every duel is only a few exchanges long.

The parry system is what separates Slash Battle from a simple button-masher. When an opponent swings, a brief window opens where you can deflect their blade. A successful parry staggers them for a counter-attack opening. Missing the parry window or attempting one too early leaves you open to the full hit. Learning to read each opponent's swing animation start is the main skill investment the game demands.

Enemy types escalate in dueling style across the level progression. Early opponents telegraph their swings broadly and pause between attacks. Later opponents attack in fast combos, feint before real swings, and have parry windows that require more precise timing. Some opponents have heavy armor that requires hitting specific exposed body zones rather than anywhere on their hitbox.

The upgrade system between duels improves sword range, attack speed, and parry window duration. Parry window upgrades are the highest-value early investment — even a slightly longer window makes a significant difference in landing deflections reliably. Sword range upgrades matter more in later stages where enemies use longer weapons and the range disadvantage becomes critical.

Key Features

  • Parry system with a precise timing window that staggers opponents for counter-attacks
  • Enemy escalation: from slow telegraphed swings to fast combos and feints
  • Armored enemy types requiring targeted hits on exposed zones
  • Upgrade tree: sword range, attack speed, and parry window duration
  • Quick deadly duels — few hits end a fight, making each decision high stakes
  • Varied opponent weapon types affecting range and swing speed

How to Play

  1. 1Move toward your opponent to close distance. Your slash only connects within melee range — too far away and it swings air.
  2. 2Swing your slash when adjacent to the opponent. A hit deals damage and pushes them back briefly.
  3. 3When you see the opponent begin their swing animation, press parry. A successful deflect staggers them — immediately follow with your slash.
  4. 4Armored opponents show exposed weak zones highlighted in orange. Only hits landing on those zones deal damage.
  5. 5After defeating each opponent, spend earned currency on upgrades. Prioritize parry window for reliability or attack speed for aggressive play.

Tips & Tricks

  • The parry input should come right as the opponent's blade begins moving, not when it's halfway through the arc. Early parry attempts miss the window; late ones take the hit. Watch the sword hand, not the blade.
  • Feinting opponents make a small motion before the real swing. The feint has a shorter animation than the real attack — watch for the difference and don't parry the feint.
  • Heavy attack opponents can't be parried cleanly without the parry upgrade. Against them, prioritize dodging back out of range rather than standing your ground and attempting deflections.

FAQ

The slash is your offensive strike that deals damage when it connects. The parry is a defensive deflection that blocks incoming damage and staggers the attacker — but only when timed precisely to the swing animation.

Most standard swings are parriable. Some special attack types — heavy charges and certain armored opponent moves — bypass parrying and must be dodged by moving out of range instead.

Slash Battle features escalating difficulty tiers. Most versions culminate in a final high-difficulty opponent, though the game can continue in endless tournament format after that.
