About Stickman Slash

Stickman Slash is a wave-based sword combat game where you slice through crowds of stickman enemies using a chained slash system. Unlike games where you hold attack for continuous damage, Stickman Slash requires deliberate timing between strikes — each slash in a combo chain must be input at the correct rhythm to maintain the chain and deal full damage. Breaking the rhythm resets the combo multiplier to zero, which means rushed inputs actively cost more score than measured ones.

Enemy variety introduces different defensive postures that counter specific combo approaches. Standard enemies take full damage from any slash direction. Block-left enemies deflect slashes from the right side and must be approached from the left. Spin-shielded enemies rotate their shield and require a timing window attack during the brief moment their front is exposed. Later waves mix these types, forcing you to identify each enemy's defensive state before committing to a slash direction.

The combo system has a visual chain indicator above your character. Each correctly timed slash advances the chain counter; a mistimed input breaks it. At chain thresholds (5, 10, 20), the slash deals bonus damage and spawns a secondary hit arc that damages nearby enemies not directly targeted. These chain bonuses create an incentive to maintain precision even in chaotic multi-enemy situations where button-mashing would be easier.

Boss encounters at chapter ends have multi-phase health bars and attack patterns that require specific counters. Phase 1 bosses have predictable swing sequences; Phase 2 increases speed and adds parry requirements; Phase 3 introduces environment hazards alongside the boss combat. Reading phase transitions and adjusting your input timing for faster attacks is the boss-specific skill.

Key Features

  • Rhythm-based combo chain requiring correctly timed slashes to maintain multiplier
  • Directional enemy defenses: standard, block-left, and spin-shielded types
  • Chain threshold bonuses at 5/10/20: bonus damage and multi-target arc
  • Multi-phase boss encounters with phase-specific attack patterns and counters
  • Combo break penalty: mistimed inputs reset the chain counter to zero
  • Chain visual indicator showing current streak and next threshold distance

Controls

Left Click / J — Slash right
Right Click / K — Slash left
Space — Dodge roll (avoids incoming attacks)
Shift — Charged heavy slash (breaks shields)
MobileSwipe right to slash right; swipe left to slash left; swipe up to dodge; hold then release to charge

How to Play

  1. 1Approach enemies and slash using the left or right input. The direction determines which enemy defenses it bypasses.
  2. 2Maintain the rhythm between slashes — the timing window is shown by the chain indicator pulsing. Hit within the pulse for chain continuation.
  3. 3Identify block-left enemies (shield on left side) and slash from the right — reverse for block-right. Spin-shielded enemies: wait for the front-facing window then slash.
  4. 4Use the dodge roll to escape boss attack sequences. Many boss attacks have a brief wind-up — dodge on the wind-up, not when the attack lands.
  5. 5Reach chain threshold milestones (5, 10, 20) to activate bonus arc hits that clear nearby enemies without direct targeting.

Tips & Tricks

  • Focus on maintaining chain rhythm rather than maximizing attack speed. A slower but consistently-timed chain reaches higher multipliers than fast inputs that break the rhythm and reset.
  • Use charged heavy slashes specifically for spin-shielded enemies when the exposure window is too short for a normal slash. The charge breaks the shield regardless of timing.
  • In multi-enemy situations, target the highest-defense enemy first with your chain — defeating them early simplifies the group, and the chain bonuses from the extended fight clear lower-tier enemies automatically.

FAQ

A slash input that lands outside the rhythm window resets the chain. Dodge rolls do not break the chain — only mistimed slash inputs do.

Block-left and block-right enemies display their shield on the corresponding side visually. The exposed side is always the correct slash direction.

Each boss phase has an independent health bar shown at the top of the screen. Depleting the Phase 1 bar transitions to Phase 2 at full health; Phase 2 transitions to Phase 3 similarly.
