About Stickman War

Stickman War is a real-time combat game where you deploy waves of stickman units from your base toward the enemy base across a horizontal battlefield. Both sides continuously produce units, and the side whose units breach the opposing base wins the exchange. The strategic layer is in choosing which unit types to produce, when to upgrade them, and how to time production surges to overwhelm defensive positions.

Unit production is currency-gated — each unit type costs a specific amount of the gold resource that accumulates over time. Basic spearmen are cheap and can be mass-deployed quickly; archers cost more but contribute ranged damage; cavalry are expensive but fast enough to bypass the enemy frontline and threaten the base directly. The resource curve means you can't produce all types simultaneously — choices about which units to prioritize shape the flow of each battle.

Terrain features create natural battlelines. Bridges and chokepoints force unit clusters, which favors area-damage units like bomb-throwers. Open fields favor cavalry flanks. The map layout is fixed per battle, so learning the terrain and adapting unit compositions to it is the preparation skill for campaign play.

Enemy AI escalates its unit composition across campaign missions. Early missions use basic infantry rushes. Later missions mix heavy armored units that standard spearmen can barely damage, requiring you to have trained archers or siege units specifically. Scouting the enemy's unit mix in the mission preview and counter-building before deployment is the campaign's strategic depth.

Key Features

  • Real-time unit production and deployment from base to enemy base
  • Gold-gated unit types: cheap mass infantry, mid-cost archers, expensive cavalry and siege
  • Terrain interaction: chokepoints favor area units; open fields favor cavalry
  • Enemy unit composition escalation requiring counter-building per mission
  • Cavalry bypass mechanic: fast units skip frontlines to threaten the enemy base
  • Upgrade system between missions improving unit stats and production speed

Controls

1–5 Hotkeys — Deploy unit types (spearman, archer, cavalry, etc.)
U — Upgrade selected unit type (when in menu)
Space — Pause (review battlefield state)
MobileTap unit icons at the bottom of screen to deploy; tap upgrade button in menu between waves

How to Play

  1. 1Deploy units by pressing their hotkey or tapping their icon. Units march automatically toward the enemy base and engage enemy units on contact.
  2. 2Build up your gold before deploying expensive units. Deploy cheap spearmen first to establish frontline pressure while gold accumulates for cavalry or siege.
  3. 3Archers behind your frontline infantry deal damage from range without engaging — always have some archers behind your front-line units.
  4. 4Use cavalry surges when the enemy frontline is occupied with your infantry. Cavalry deployed at that moment can bypass the fight and reach the enemy base before being intercepted.
  5. 5Check the mission preview for enemy unit types. If armored heavy units appear, train archers or siege weapons specifically — standard spearmen deal minimal damage to armor.

Tips & Tricks

  • Gold investment in production speed upgrades pays higher dividends than direct unit stat upgrades in long missions. Faster production means more total units deployed over the mission duration.
  • Mass-deploying cheap spearmen to drain the enemy economy works against early-game AI. It doesn't work against mid-game AI with heavy units — those fights require quality over quantity.
  • Cavalry surges are best timed 10–15 seconds after a major frontline engagement starts. The enemy AI typically redeploys reserve units toward the frontline during that window, leaving the base temporarily under-defended.

FAQ

Most browser builds feature AI opponents rather than real-time online multiplayer. The campaign progressively upgrades AI tactical behavior.

Yes — the Space bar pauses the battle, allowing you to assess the battlefield and queue unit deployments without real-time pressure.

Stickman War focuses on real-time unit deployment across a horizontal battlefield with no base-building. Stickman Empires includes base construction, territory control, and a broader map — it's a more complex strategy game.
