About Plundur.io

Plundur.io is a browser-based multiplayer game set in a pirate world where you sail between islands, raid treasure, and try to accumulate the highest loot value before other players steal it from you or sink your ship. The .io format means the lobby fills with real players from around the world within seconds of joining, and unlike many .io games that reduce everything to a single mechanic, Plundur.io has a two-part loop: raid the land, then escape with your haul.

The core tension in Plundur.io comes from the risk-reward of staying on an island to collect more loot versus leaving before another pirate arrives and engages you in ship combat. Treasure is scattered across each island in varying quantities, and the longer you linger, the more you collect — but other players can see your ship anchored from a distance and will specifically target you when you are loaded down. A return trip to your base converts loot into permanent score.

Ship combat happens at sea and is surprisingly tactical for an .io game. Ships fire cannons that travel in arcs, so you need to lead your shots based on the opponent's movement direction and speed. Being hit while carrying a full loot haul is punishing — you drop a portion of it on the water where anyone can pick it up. This creates chaotic moments where one sinking creates a scrum of ships all trying to scoop the dropped treasure.

Plundur.io also has upgrade mechanics. Accumulated gold can be spent between raids on ship improvements: hull armor, cannon range, movement speed. This creates a progression loop within a session where early conservative play funds later aggressive expansion, and veterans with upgraded ships have a meaningful edge over newcomers.

How to Play

  1. 1Your ship spawns near your home base. Sail toward a nearby island marked with a treasure icon.
  2. 2Anchor at the island and collect loot by moving over it or clicking it. Loot appears as chests or scattered coins.
  3. 3Watch the minimap for approaching enemy ships. When another pirate closes in, decide whether to fight or flee with what you have.
  4. 4Return to your home base to deposit loot and convert it to permanent score. Loot you carry can be stolen if you are sunk.
  5. 5Spend deposited gold on ship upgrades. Prioritize movement speed early — it lets you escape fights you cannot win.

Tips & Tricks

  • Never stay on an island after filling more than 60% of your cargo hold unless you are confident you can fight off challengers. The marginal extra loot rarely justifies the risk of losing everything.
  • Target players who are sailing back to base fully loaded. They are moving predictably and carrying maximum loot — a successful cannon volley on a loaded ship is the highest-value action in the game.
  • Lead your cannon shots significantly. Aim where the enemy ship will be, not where it is. At long range, a full ship-width of lead is usually correct.
  • Use your base's protection zone strategically. Deposit, upgrade, and re-launch quickly — spending too long near base gives aggressive players time to camp outside the safe zone.

FAQ

Yes — share your game lobby link with friends and they can join the same server. You can choose to cooperate by not attacking each other, though the game does not have a formal team mode.

A portion of your carried loot drops in the water at your sinking location and can be collected by any nearby player. Loot you have already deposited at base is safe.

Upgrades persist for the duration of your session but reset when you close the game or the session ends. Each new session starts from base stats.
